Appeal to TNAI Members regarding receipt of NJI

We are glad to inform you that Nursing Journal of India (NJI), the official organ of TNAI is celebrating its Centenary during the year 2010. So far, membership of NJI is being treated as part of Life Membership Fee, and copies of NJI are being sent to all Life Members.

The NJI readers have the feeling that the quality of the journal needs to be improved, both content wise and by appearance. We, at Headquarters also share that perception. However, there are certain constraints, including the financial ones, which we seek to resolve with your cooperation.

As for use of NJI, it has been brought to our notice that lot of unclaimed journals are received back to the Headquarters with postal remarks that “the addressee has left”. This apart, bundles and bundles of NJI are kept in many institutions. In the TNAI Council meeting held on 27 October 2009, it has been decided to send the journals only to those who are actually reading the journal regularly. The number of copies printed per year can be reduced, thus curtailing the cost. While we are considering other modalities too for minimising the overall costs and enhancing quality, sending the copies only to actual users with correct, updated address is first measure we are taking.

To this end, TNAI requires updated addresses of the members. You are therefore requested to complete the enclosed proforma and send to us immediately. Please note that if no response is received from your side within a month, it will be presumed that you are not interested in regularly receiving the copies of NJI and your name shall be dropped from the mailing list of NJI.

Consent for getting the copies of NJI on regular basis
