Events at Institutions

World Health Day celebrations : Narayana Nursing Institutions celebrated World Health Day on 7 April 2008 in Venkatachalam rural area primary school with Mr G Srinivasan, Vice Principal, Narayana College of Nursing conducted ‘World Health Day’.


Government College of Nursing, Madras Medical College, Chennai, (TN) : The 25th Lamp lighting ceremony was held on 12 December 2008. The Chief Guest was Prof P Sundaram, Dean, Saveetha College of Nursing, rendered a motivational address. Dr Mrs P Mangala Gowri, Principal, Dr Mrs Prasanna Baby, Reader encouraged the students to aspire for higher achievements. Mrs Susila Kumari, Dr N Jaya, and Mrs P Sornam, all Readers, also addressed the students.


Shri Baba Mastnath Institute of Nursing, Asthal Bohar, Rohtak (Haryana) : Lamp lighting ceremony was conducted on 22 February 2009. Mahant Shri Chand Nath Yogi Ji and Dr Markanday Ahuja, Director of Shri Baba Mastnath Group of Institutes inaugurated the programme and addressed the students. The chief guest was Chief Minister of Haryana, Ch Bhupinder Singh Hooda who also administered the Nightingale Pledge to the students.

The final year BSc (N) students actively conducted sports competition, essay writing competition and drawing competition were conducted for school children.

They also participated in dramas, role play, puppet show and folk songs related to World Health Day theme ‘protecting health from climate change’. Finally the session was ended after Mr G Srinivasan, Vice Principal, Narayana College of Nursing, addressed the gathering. Mr Joshua, Head Master was the guest of honour. Mrs Vanaja Kumari, Lecturer and Mr Prasad, Teacher spoke their views on World Health Day.
