Born on 27 December 1928, Ms Suprity served in various nursing positions, mostly in Orissa Government, as Staff Nurse, Nursing Sister, Sister Tutor, Principal Tutor and later as Director Nursing in Government of Orissa since 1982. She retired from this position on 1 January 1987. In her distinguished career, Ms Suprity had opportunity to undertake special course in  Education and Administration in Psychology at Wellington, New Zealand University. She was also recipient of WHO Fellowship to study nursing education in Sweden, Canada and England in 1973.
