Hon’ble
President, Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil gave away the
Florence Nightingale Awards to Nursing Personnel at
a function held at Rashtrapati Bhawan on May 12, 2009
on the occasion of the International Nurses Day. Twenty-nine
nurses from all over the country received the awards.
The function was attended by the Union Minister of State
for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Panabaka Lakshmi,
senior government officials and TNAI representatives.
As the citations were read out, each awardee came to
the dais and received the award from the President of
India. At this occasion, Hon’ble President exhorted
the nurses to take a pledge to work with the spirit
of service as exemplified by Florence Nightingale. |
