TNAI submitted a Memorandum of recommendations concerning the nurses of the country to the Sixth Central Pay Commission (SCPC) on December 29, 2006 at its office in Vasant Kunj in New Delhi.

Under the dynamic leadership of Justice B. N. Srikrishna of SCPC, TNAI was invited for a hearing on the January 24, 2007.

The group was led by Mr. A.B. Kulkarni, President, TNAI comprising Mrs. Sheila Seda, Secretary-General, TNAI, Mrs. Nanthini Subbiah, Deputy Secretary-General, TNAI, Ms. Surekha Sama, Registrar, Delhi Nursing Council and Mrs. Annie Kumar, Secretary, TNAI Delhi State Branch.

The members of the group had a privilege to express TNAI’s concerns regarding the pay structure and other issues related to the nursing profession. The group was able to clarify all queries with due rationale. The members of the Commission were very receptive and gave positive response to the recommendations presented by TNAI.
