MARCHING AHEAD: CHALLENGES AHEAD

Dear Friends,

Wish you all a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year- 2010.

TNAI has completed glorious 101 years and marching ahead towards another Century. This Journey was full of experiences, growth, achievements. We owe these accomplishments to our founder members who had a vision, definite objectives. They were well aware of the goals and the right path to travel towards it. It is a reality and truth that TNAI is the only professional organisation of nurses in India. It is leading the nurses and the nursing profession on the national and International level.

But we have to go miles away! This is the right time to stop for a while and look back and forward. The last century was a different and the new Century is going to be altogether different in many aspects. Every thing is changed. And now the change is associated with the tremendous speed. If we have to survive, we have to keep the pace with it. The first change we have to bring in is that we have to become proactive. Visualise the challenges well in advance and be ready to meet them. We have to bring comprehensive change is our thinking, feelings, behaviour and the most important in our attitude to look around. TNAI has to change the entire system of functioning. We have to adopt new technology, new knowledge and skills. And new thoughts also. The professional growth is showing the quantitative aspect. TNAI has to enrich it with qualitative aspect. Every one has hopes in TNAI, the people, the professionals, and the national and international organisations. And we should not forget our State and Central Governments who are expecting a lot from us. Let us stand up and fulfill their expectations and our expectations will also be taken care of by all. Let us be committed to the Care of others and others will take care of us.

(This is the last editorial from me as by the end of this year there will change in the Guards. They will certainly bring the changes needed. Let us wish them Good Luck Well in advance)
